I finished up working at IES Alminares this past week. To celebrate the temporary gobs of free time, here are some more pictures!

Aryanna and a friend at her school's International Food night. We brought an apple pie to represent the USA (pictures of pie further down)

Lego creations. On the left we have a machine, and on the right a frog.

Beautiful people.

Drinking tea. In Spain, 'tea' refers to a strong mixture of vodka, Nyquil, and cinnamon.

Mmm, watermelon.

Talking to Grandma Marj.

We were passing by the cathedral on the way home one day, and Carrie snapped a picture.

Carrie and I have been cooking a lot. Here is our collaborative effort, 'Apple Pie'. The earthenware here is really cheap and actually costs less than a stack of 2 or 3 foil pie tins. We found another one later in the dumpster, so now we have two (baking pans, not pies)!

Apple Pie Take 2. This is the one we made for the International Night. It was even better than the first one.

Here are some assorted pictures from daily life. These are out of chronological order. Ash's hair is currently quite long!

Ash looking good.

If God made a tuna sandwich, it would probably look like this. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, olive oil, vinegar, and pan fried tuna steak with seasonings. I want another one just writing about it.

Finding a decent stereo by the dumpster. I love bringing home other people's trash. We left the tape deck but took the amplifier and tuner. Tapes, haha. Who on earth would still use tapes in this day and age! Oh right....I won't call her out and embarrass her in public!

I need to get this kid a real soccer ball. I've seen two floating in the ocean so far but failed to retrieve either one.

Aryanna looking cute.

And again.

More clowning for the camera.

Aryanna trying to look threatening.

I'll post some more pictures in the next few days. This upcoming week is our last at Arcos before summer vacation.

More thrills, chills, and spills from our balcony

The street below our balcony has yet again become the scene of excitement, at least for 30 minutes or so. Some young hothead on his fancy motorbike machine decided a crowded, narrow street full of car and foot traffic was the best place for showing his lady friend how fast he could go. He plowed into the rear end of a parked truck directly under our balcony.

Fortunately they came out alright, although the man might have a broken arm. His lady friend seemed more pissed off than injured although she had a nasty swollen ankle and some abrasion from the street. Fortunately they were both wearing full-face helmets, although no other protective gear.
I wanted to snap some pictures, but felt that would be impolite given the circumstances.

The kids wanted to say a special prayer for the rider before bed; it was sweet.
